The Town of Elizabethtown has offered different methods for residents to pay their utility bills. However, some residents are complaining about the hours of operation for said drive-thru.

One resident complained that the service window was closed, there were no envelopes for the dropbox and then there was an additional fee for paying online. The online bill pay fee was $1.46. The resident explained they are currently out of work and that every penny counts.

Terri Dennison, Communication Director with the Town of Elizabethtown explained the town’s COVID-19 (coronavirus) approach is to limit the interaction with the public.

She said, “We are providing multiple options for customers to pay their bills. The dropbox remains open and is being regularly used. Customers may also mail their payments. And finally, as an additional convenience, the town accepts payments online.”

On March 26, 2020, Mayor Syliva Campbell announced the town offices were closed to the public and there would be limited access.

The Town of Elizabethtown has staff members in staggered shifts. Mayor Campbell said when announcing the limited access, “Please feel free to call the town offices if there is any way that we can help.”

The Town Hall phone number is 910-862-2066.
