The town of Elizabethtown is now under a State of Emergency. According to Town Manager Eddie Madden, the town followed Bladen County’s lead with instituting a State of Emergency at 2 p.m.
“Residents need to take this (storm) seriously. This is a dangerous storm,” said Madden.
He strongly encouraged residents to continue to monitor the progress of the storm and to finish making preparations. Madden also urged residents to heed watches and warnings as they are issued.
Madden said the town may impose a curfew later on in the week.
