Town of White Lake Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting – January 13, 2015

The White Lake Commissioners met Tuesday evening in regular session. In administrative matters, the Board approved Utility Releases ($424.31), Tax Releases ($1547.92), Refunds ($204.49); approved Southern Software Agreement for the Town’s financial accounting package; unsealed Closed session minutes as presented; approved budget amendment ($8500) for contract services for grant application for multi-use path; adopted a resolution for Mutual Assistance with other law enforcement agencies; and adopted a resolution of support and approved the Basic Facts and Assurances for the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Multi-Use Trail application.

In other business, Mayor Womble highlighted correspondence to Kristen, Woodruff, North Carolina State Park Superintendent, requesting a survey to determine the cause of the water discoloration and implement necessary actions that need to be taken to preserve the vitality of the Lake.  He also contacted Frank L. Perry, Secretary of State, expressing an interest in the Town acquiring the vacant Bladen County Correctional Center property.

The Municipal Complex and Post Office will be closed Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  The on-call person will be available in case of water/sewer emergencies.
