The Town of White Lake continued its quest Tuesday to find solutions to the Lake water issues. According to reports from the State, the Lake water quality is great and there have been no problems noted with the quality. Mayor Womble received a response from Jason Green, Intensive Survey Branch Chief of the Division of Water Resources regarding their assistance with determining solutions for Lake PH levels and appearance. No updated information was provided regarding the Lake, but the Mayor is meeting with Ken White to discuss the monitoring site reports. After this meeting, the Town staff will determine the next step. The Board agrees that although the State has determined that the Lake water quality is great, “we do want to restore the Lake to its historic, natural beauty.”

The Board adopted a resolution Tuesday to state the rules for soliciting treats on Halloween. The date set aside is Tuesday, Oct. 31 for children ages 12 and under to trick-or-treat during the hours of 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult. A curfew will be in effect for all between the ages of 13 and adult after 11 p.m. and until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Mayor Womble reminded all motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution during the Halloween activities.
