FAIRMONT – East Bladen’s boys and Fairmont’s girls were the winners Thursday in a short dual meet at Fairmont. Only 4 events were scored in the boys meet and 4 events were scored in the girls meet.
East Bladen won the boys meet 19-8, while Fairmont took the girls meet 19-11. The real focus for both teams was too post times that would qualify for the Mid East Regionals that will be held in Franklin on Saturday, June 19th.

Senior A. J. Smith won the 3200 meters for the Eagles with a time of 11 minutes, 45 seconds. Sophomore Malcolm Bolden took 1st place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.2 seconds. The Eagle 4×100 meter relay team’s winning time was 45.6 seconds.
Junior Shaquanna Kemp posted a time of 1 minute, 28 seconds to win the 400 meters. East Bladen’s 4×100 meter girls relay team placed 2nd in 57 seconds. Senior Aaniyah Jackson was 2nd in the 400 meters in 1 minute, 29 seconds. East Bladen junior Maya McDonald finished 2nd in the 100 meters in 13.2 seconds.
East Bladen freshman Omarion Atkinson was 3rd in the 100 meter dash in 11.7 seconds. Eagle senior Damondta Smith placed 2nd in the 400 meters (55 seconds).
