ST PAULS – East Bladen’s boys and St. Pauls’ girls were the winners Tuesday in a Three Rivers Conference dual meet. East Bladen outscored St. Pauls 87-51 in the boys meet, while St. Pauls won the girls meet by an 80.5-35.5 margin.

The Eagle boys outscored St. Pauls 20-5 in the distance races and swept the relays by a 20-0 margin. St. Pauls held a 16-4 advantage in the hurdles. The Lady Bulldogs outscored East 28-0 in the jumps, 13-0 in the hurdles and 10-0 in the distance races.

Senior A.J. Smith and sophomore Malcolm Bolden were double-event winners for the Eagle boys, and junior Maya McDonald won 2 sprints for the Lady Eagles.

Smith won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 30 seconds and captured 1st place in the 1600 meters with a time of 5 minutes, 34 seconds. Bolden sped to victory in the 200 meters in 23.8 seconds and won the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 2 inches.

McDonald dashed to victory in the 100 meters in 13.7 seconds and won the 200 meters in 29.3 seconds.

Eagle sophomore Jacob Nixon took 1st place in the 3200 meters in 12 minutes, 28 seconds. Senior Devin Bowen won the discus with a throw of 105 feet, 4 inches. Freshman Blaine Pope captured top honors in the 400 meters with a time of 55 seconds.

East Bladen won all 4 relay events including the 4×400 meters (4 min. 6 sec.), 4×100 meters (45.9 sec.), 4×200 meters (1 min. 34 sec.), 4×800 meters (10 min. 1 sec.).

Sophomore Zylique Lewis posted 2nd place finishes for the Eagles in the shot put (34 ft. 6 in.) and discus (102 ft. 7 in.). Freshman Zachary Metz placed 2nd in the 1600 meters (5 min. 41 sec.) and 3rd in the 800 meters (2 min. 32 sec.).

Freshman Yontee Dobson tallied 3rd place points in 3 different events – the 300 meter hurdles (50.6 sec.), the 110 meter hurdles (19.6 sec.), long jump (16 ft. 3 in.).

Other 2nd place finishers for the East boys were: senior Damondta Smith, 400 meters, 57 sec.; junior Robert McKoy, 200 meters, 25.1 sec.; freshman Omarion Atkinson, long jump, 16 ft. 5 in.

Other 3rd place finishers for the Eagles were: freshman Jayden Dailey, 200 meters, 25.5 sec.; sophomore Kenneth Armstrong, shot put, 32 ft. 7 inc.; senior Collin McKoy, 400 meters, 1 min. 14 sec.

Lady Eagle junior Tatianna McElveen won the shot put with a heave of 26 feet and took 2nd place in the discus with a throw of 73 ft. 2in.

East junior Aniya McKoy tied for 2nd place in the 200 meters (31 sec.) and placed 2nd in the 100 meters (14.6 sec.). Senior De’Angela Moore was 3rd in the discus with a throw of 64 ft. 8 in.

The Lady Eagles won 2 relay events – the 4×100 meters (57.5 sec.) and the 4×200 meters (2 min. 1 sec.).

Also competing for the Eagle boys were freshmen Jair McElveen and Jacob Caulder, sophomore Tyreon Graham, and senior Jeremiah Jones.

Other Lady Eagles competing were juniors Shaquanna Kemp, Azariah Rhodie and Nacaela Melvin, senior Aaniya Jackson and freshman Tayla Jackson.
