ST PAULS – East Bladen’s boys and girls both finished second to St. Pauls in a 3-team Three Rivers Conference meet Thursday.

In the boys meet, St. Pauls rode a 29-point advantage in the field events to an 87-51 point victory. Third-place West Columbus tallied 31 points.

In the girls meet, the Lady Bulldogs dominated the distance events and the hurdles to outscore East Bladen 97.5 to 52. West Columbus was third with 13.5 points.

Event winners for the East Bladen boys included sophmore A. J. Smith in the 800 meters (2:33) and the 1600 meters (5:28); junior Efren Vargas in the 3200 meter run (13:54) and the 4×800 meter relay team (9:58).

East Bladen’s girls events winners were: junior Lakendra Jones and freshman Tatianna McElveen who tied for first place in the discus with identical throws of 59-0; sophmore Lexus Smith in the shot put (26-10); junior Teronda Autry in the 400 meters(1:12); the 4×200 meter relay team (1:59); and the 4×100 meter relay team (5:27).

Second-place finishers for the Eagle boys included: sophmore Devin Bowen in the discus (95-01), junior Wisdom Northern in the 300 meter hurdles (50.0), the 4×200 meter relay team (1:39.6) and the 4×400 meter relay team (4:07).

East Bladen girls who recorded second place finishes were: Lakendra Jones in the shot put (25-10), junior Rachel Hurrell in the 400 meters(1:15), the 4×800 meter relay team (14:48) and the 4×100 meter relay team (55.6).

Scoring third-place points for the Eagle boys were: junior Za’Quis Leach in the 100 meters (11.9), Efren Vargas in the 1600 meters (6:01) and the 800 meters (2:46), senior Tyrese McElveen in the shot put (31-07), junior Tayshaun Berkeley in the 400 meters (58.0), junior David Rohrbacher in the 3200 meters (16:51) and Wisdom Northern in the long jump (17-03).

East Bladen’s girls third-place finishers included: sophmore Makia Johnson in the 100 meters (13.9), Lexus Smith in the discus (56-07), senior Gemizha Stephens in the 400 meters (1:17) and freshman Azariah Rhodie in the 200 meters (1:22).

Acquiring fourth-place points for the Lady Eagles were: senior Kaytlyn Goss in the 100 meter hurdles (21.1), Tatiana McElveen in the shot put (24-08), junior Vianey Estrada in the 1600 meters (7:45) and sophmore Aaniya Jackson in the 400 meters (1:22).

Recording fourth-place finishes for the Eagle boys were: junior Lawson Hester in the 100 meters (12.0), Mark Wallace in the 110 meter hurdles (22.2), David Rohrbacher in the 800 meters (3:13), sophmore Cody Long in the shot put (30-02), junior Kaleb Robbins in the 400 meters (59.0) and freshman Timothy McLean in the 200 meters (25.8).

East Bladen will travel to West Columbus Thursday for a 4 p.m. meet.
