Bladen County Sheriff Tracking Class conclusion  Law enforcement officers, firefighters, Highway Patrol, State Parks personnel and Bladen County Emergency Management personnel, have all spent the past two weeks involved in training in the forests of Bladen County. The purpose of the class is teach participants the fundamental skills to be able to quickly locate a child or adult who becomes lost in the woods.

Instructor Gary Turlington said Friday’s session concluded two weeks of intensive training in the forests of Bladen County.
Agencies that participated in the course were deputies from Bladen, Cumberland, Scotland, Richmond, and Sampson Counties, North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers and police officers from Hope Mills and adjacent areas supported by Bladen County Emergency Management, White Lake Rescue, Bladen County Emergency Services and local firemen.

“The instruction was provided by Special Forces and the Charlotte Fire Department and hosted by Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker,” said Turlington.

He added that additional support for the training session and participation from the Jones Lake Park Rangers made the training event a success.

“The lessons learned further our objectives to partner with allied assets and agencies to better serve our county and region,” said Turlington.
