DUE WEST, SC – Former West Bladen star Trevor Lesane cracked 2 hits, scored 4 runs and drove in 2 runs as Erskine swept 4 Conference Carolinas games from Emmanuel College, (GA).

 

Lesane didn’t play in the opening game of Friday’s double-header, but the Flying Fleet prevailed 8-6. In Friday’s nightcap, the senior outfielder drew a 6th inning walk, advanced on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly, then dashed home on Livan Reinoso’s single to tie the game 5-5. Reinoso slugged a walk-off home run in the 9th inning to lift Erskine to the 6-5 win.

 

In the 4th inning of Saturday’s opening game, Lesane knocked in Dayan Reinoso with a single to centerfield. The Tar Heel native eventually stole home on the back end of a double steal to push the Erskine lead to 8-1, and the Flying Fleet held on for an 8-5 victory.

 

Emmanuel jumped in front 10-1 in the nightcap, but Erskine rallied to win an 18-14 slugfest. Lesane’s grounder in the 4th inning plated Armando Becerra to trim the Lions lead to 10-6. Lesane reached base on an error in the 5th and darted home on Cody Forster’s infield hit to tie the game 10-10.

 

Lesane raked a single to leftfield in the 6th inning and sprinted home on Forster’s single that gave Erskine a 13-10 lead.  

 

The West Bladen grad has played in 10 games and is currently batting .343 with 12 hits, 10 runs batted in and 9 runs scored. He has a .429 slugging percentage with a double and a triple.

 

Erskine improved to 8-2 in conference play with the 4-game sweep and is 10-6 overall. The Flying Fleet will travel to Anderson University Saturday for a non-conference double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
