GREENVILLE – Trillium is a sponsor of the biennial Learning & Leadership Summit: Nurturing Positive Childhoods, presented by Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

The Learning & Leadership Virtual Summit was held virtually on March 27—28. The Summit enhanced participants’ practice and leadership skills through presentations and educational workshops designed to help support and strengthen families throughout NC and activate support for effective prevention practice. A variety of sessions offered insight into strategies for increasing protective factors and building resilience, effective implementation, raising awareness for effective strategies, and advocating for policies that nurture positive childhoods. Over 350 participants across the state registered to attend the virtual Summit.

“We are proud to sponsor the 2023 Learning and Leadership Summit because we know investments in programs, strategies, and policies that strengthen families, can prevent child maltreatment from ever occurring,” said Joy Futrell, Trillium’s CEO. “We want to play a part in helping North Carolina’s children reach their full potential as our future leaders, workforce, neighbors and parents.”

“Prevention happens in partnership, and we are incredibly grateful to Trillium for showing their dedication to nurturing positive childhoods in North Carolina as a sponsor of our statewide summit,” said Sharon Hirsch, President & CEO of Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina.

With April recognized as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, this timely event will build momentum and support efforts to prioritize child maltreatment prevention and nurture positive childhoods, together.
