Tropical Depression number 3 has strengthened into Tropical Storm Chris with the latest NHC advisory. Other than some maritime issues little to no impacts are expected across northeast SC or southeast NC. Marine impacts include strong longshore currents for east facing beaches, elevated risk of rip currents, and rough surf. In addition, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the adjacent Cape Fear water with steep waves possible.
