Tropical Storm Arthur expected to bring rain to Bladen County

Although Bladen County had not been issued any weather advisories as of Sunday morning, remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur are expected to bring rain to the area.

As of 8 a.m. Sunday, a tropical storm warning is in effect for Surf City to Duck and for Pamlico and Albemarle sounds, according to the National Weather Service. A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case within the next 24 to 36 hours.

A small craft advisory and potential rip current warnings have been issued for Wilmington area beaches, including Southport, as well as along the South Carolina coast.

For Bladen County, the National Weather Service is forecasting a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. Sunday. However, the forecast is calling for showers with possible thunderstorms Monday. There is at least at 30% chance of rain each day through Friday with mostly sunny skies expected Saturday.
