TS BonnieTropical Storm Bonnie has formed just off the Carolinas. The National Hurricane Center has upgraded Tropical Depression No. 2 to Tropical Storm Bonnie.
Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect from Savannah River to Little River Inlet, SC.
As of the 5 p.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Bonnie is located about 125 miles south-southeast of Charleston, SC and moving northwest at 10 miles per hour. The forward motion of the storm is expected to decrease this evening and on Sunday as Tropical Storm Bonnie nears the coast. The storm’s coordinates are 31.1 North and 79.4 West with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.
Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches is predicted through the weekend. Some localized areas could receive heavier amounts.
Residents in southeastern North Carolina and South Carolina are advised to continue to monitor weather conditions for your area.
