On Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, Myasia Nicole Morange, age 18 of Council, NC and Raymond Lee Brooks, Jr., age 33 also of Council, NC were arrested for the March 27th death of Christopher Duane Stewart.
Morange and Brooks were arrested at their homes in Council which is in Bladen County. Bladen County Sheriff’s Office confirmed local law enforcement assisted Pender County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension of the two suspects in Council.
”We had multiple units out there for hours last night, ” Chief Deputy Mac Warner with Bladen Country Sheriff’s Office stated.
Both are charged with First Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Both are being held under no bond at the Pender County Jail.
Stewart, who was reportedly murdered, was a UNCW college student and an Army Veteran. The 23-year-old was found dead in Pender County on March 27, 2020.
