Sophia Brixey and Jerome L. Purdie have filed for seats this week on the Bladen County Board of Education, the Elections Office announced Tuesday.
Brixey, a Democrat, filed Monday for one of the three countywide seats on the board. Purdie, also a Democrat, filed Tuesday for a seat in District 3. Neither candidate currently serves on the board.
Filing continues until noon Friday at the Bladen County Board of Elections Office, 301 South Cypress Street, Elizabethtown. The primary, if needed, is scheduled May 17 and the general election is set for Nov. 8.
