We can all “LIVE UNITED” this weekend and support our United Way of Bladen County in their fundraising efforts. The 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fun Day fundraising event will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery in the Elizabethtown Industrial Park.

Events for the day include a 5K run at 9 am, Kids zone activities including Bounce Brothers Bounce Houses, facepainting, 4-H crafts and activities, 4-H bake sale, and visits with the live animals on the surrounding farm; LIVE music from Jason Jackson and Randy Cannady with Jason Jackson Live and our local artist David Howard Faircloth throughout the day; a raffle for a STIHL BGA S6 blower donated by Southeast Farm Equipment, Cornhole Tournament at 12 noon, Food, and vendors from various businesses across our region!

United Way of Bladen County supports initiatives in our local community that serve families and children. Currently funded programs include Families’ First, Inc; Foster Kids programs through Dept. of Social Services, and Bladen County 4-H Youth Development Program. All monies raised through this FUNdraising effort stay in our county offering much needed financial support to these local initiatives and others.

The day will offer many ways for families to come out to this festive fundraiser and give back to their community while having lots of fun. Registrations for the 5K run can happen at the start of the race, if you have missed our previous due date. Arrive by 8:30 am to complete required registration form and pay the fee of $20 for adults or $15 for youth under age 12. The fun 5K run will start at 9 am. T-shirts for those pre-registered have been created by Sign Logic, Inc. in Elizabethtown. We will have extras for sale at the event.

For those competitive Corn Hole players in Bladen County, come toss some bags for a good cause! Registration is $30 for entry fee and sign up starts at 11 am. Tournament play will begin at 12 noon. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery.

All other fun, music, food, and shopping will take place from 10 am to 2 pm. The raffle drawing for the STIHL blower will be drawn at 2 pm.
