This Saturday will have three events for Bladen residents; The Annual Kelly Spring Fest,The Bladen County Relay for Life, and Child Abuse Awareness. Each one starts in the morning and will be full of fun activities for all participants.

The Annual Kelly Spring Fest will begin with a parade on White Oak Road at 10 a.m. across the street from Kelly ball field. People can expect to see art and craft vendors, along with food, and live entertainment from The Pink Slips. If you are a vendor make sure you are set up and ready by 9 a.m. All parade entries need to be lined up by 9:30 a.m.

The Bladen County Relay for Life will begin at 11 a.m. at the Elizabethtown Middle School and will end at 11 p.m. To register as a Cancer Survivor, please call 1-800-227-2345.

The Child Abuse Awareness event will begin at 10 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m. at the Bladen County Courthouse located in Elizabethtown. There will be a Pinwheel Garden contest, entries were all due by April 19, and the winner will be picked during the event. Beginning at noon there will be a Child Abuse Arenas Walk that will start at San Jose and end at the Courthouse. Anyone is allowed to participate in the walk and can either meet other fellow walkers at San Jose or take a shuttle over from the Courthouse. Venders will be there along with bounce houses, nail painting, face painting, and information booths. At the end of the event, butterflies will be released in the honor of the children that lost their lives to neglect or abuse.
