Dixie Youth BaseballCLARKTON – Columbus County rallied with 11 unanswered runs in the middle innings to defeat Bladen County 18-9 in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Tournament at the Clarkton DYB Complex.

Columbus County jumped in front with 4 first-inning runs before Bladen County answered with a run in the home first. Dylan Brisson cracked a one-out single, and Andrew Wren slammed a double to drive him in.

Bladen County whittled the lead to 4-3 in the second. Cole Brisson walloped a solo home run, and Chase Bryan hammered a triple. Ashton Bryan knocked in Chase Bryan with a single.

The rally continued with a 4-run third inning that vaulted Bladen County ahead 7-4. Trenton Bostic and Dylan Brisson clobbered solo home runs to start the rally. Wren belted a single, and Tiffany Page blasted a triple that scored Wren. Cole Brisson swatted a single that scored Page.

Columbus County exploded for 7 runs in the top of the fourth and tacked on 4 more in the fifth to build a 15-7 lead. Bostic slugged a solo home run in the home fifth to trim the margin to 15-8.

Cole Brisson drilled a solo home run in the Bladen sixth after Columbus County had scored 3 runs in the top of the sixth.

Cole Brisson batted a perfect 3-3 with the two home runs to lead the Bladen hitters. Chase Bryan was also 3-3 with a triple. Wren finished 3-3 at the plate with a double. Bostic batted 2-3 with two home runs, and Dylan Brisson was also 2-3 with a home run.

Page smashed a triple, and Ashton Bryan, Luke Bryant and Brady Rhodes added one hit each.

The loss ended the season for the Bladen All-Stars.
