North Carolina Department of Transportation officials have issued the following update of road openings / closings for Bladen County:
OPENING
Ballpark Road
Ballpark Road is now open.
Twisted Hickory Road
Twisted Hickory Road is now open.
CLOSINGS:
Center Road
Center Road is closed just south of Zion Hill Church Road in order to replace a damaged crossline. The road will be closed through the middle of next week.
Webb Faulk Road
Webb Faulk Road is closed 0.3 miles north of NC 211 in order to replace a crossline pipe. NC DOT anticipates the road will open late tomorrow afternoon.
Owen Hill Road
Owen Hill Road remains closed due to construction of a double line of cast in place reinforced concrete box culvert. NC DOT is anticipating completion next week.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Barry Lewis Road
Beginning Monday, May 15, NC DOT plans to close Barry Lewis Road at a location 1.32 miles north of Forrest Drive followed by a nearby closure located 0.98 miles north of Forrest Drive. The switch is anticipated to occur Wednesday with completion of both locations by Friday afternoon of next week.
Galeed Church Road
Beginning Monday, May 15, we plan to close Galeed Church Road just west of NC 242/410 in order to replace a crossline. NC DOT anticipates the road will re-open on Wednesday afternoon.
ELWELL FERRY:
Elwell Ferry is NOT operating due to high water. While river levels are dropping rapidly, NC DOT anticipates it will be the weekend before levels are back within operating range.
