MacKenzie Brisson, who was involved in a standoff with law enforcement in December, is due back in Bladen County Superior Court on August 6, 2018.

Brisson was arrested following a 6-hour standoff on November 21, 2017. He is charged with three felony counts of assault on Bladen County law enforcement officers.

In November, Brisson barricaded himself in a home on Paul Brisson Road and began firing rounds of ammunition inside and around the home. Law enforcement officers did not return fire, and no one was injured in the incident. Once Brisson ceased shooting, officers sent a robot inside the home in an attempt to check on Brisson. He was located in a truck parked inside the garage of the home, unharmed.

He is represented by Whiteville Attorney Harold Pope.
