BLADENBORO – Cape Fear Academy defeated West Bladen 3-1 Wednesday night in non-conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-18.
“This was one of the best teams we played this year,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “My girls came ready to play.”
West Bladen senior Raegan Davis pounded in 20 kills, 5 solo blocks, 4 service points and an ace, while collecting 5 assists, 2 digs and a block assist. Junior Lexie Corrothers slammed in 8 kills, 3 aces and 5 service points.
Junior Mikayla Meadows racked up 4 kills, 3 solo blocks, 3 service points, 2 aces and a dig. Senior Caroline Davis was credited with 22 digs for West. Junior Jordan Benson was credited with 8 assists and 5 service points.
Sophmore Shelby Pharr knocked in 3 kills and 3 service points. Senior Callie Lewis contributed 4 service points and a dig for the Lady Knights.
Alana King and Tatiana Hunt came up with 4 digs each for West. King also added 2 service points. Sophmore Sidnee Walters finished with one service point and one kill.
West Bladen, now 4-2 overall, will travel to Three Rivers Conference co-leader Whiteville Thursday for a 4:30 match.
