ELIZABETHTOWN- Clinton defeated East Bladen 3-0 Monday night in non-conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-21, 26-24 and 25-11.

Clinton grabbed an early 7-1 lead in the first set, before junior Gracyn Martin fired in a trio of service points to pull the Lady Eagles to within 9-7.

The Lady Dark Horses built the lead back to 18-12, but Martin trimmed the margin to 18-15 with a pair of service points. The Clinton lead ballooned to 23-17, but sophmore Katie Evans closed the gap to 24-21 with a trio of service points.

McDuffie reeled off 4 straight service points to put the Lady Eagles up 10-7 in the second set. Service points from junior Cybil Campbell, Martin and McDuffie, and two service points from senior Sarah Johnson edged East ahead 24-23. However Clinton claimed the next 3 points and the set.

Clinton jumped in front 11-4 in the third set and closed out the match.

Martin fired in an ace and 6 service points. McDuffie drilled in 2 aces and 6 service points and had one dig. Johnson hammered in 4 kills, an ace and 4 service points and added 2 digs.

Campbell knocked in 4 service points and an ace and collected 3 digs. Sophmore Kayleigh Raynor slammed in 3 kills. Evans finished with 4 service points and 2 digs.

Junior Lorna Mendell pounded in 3 kills. Junior Ruth Ward contributed 3 diggs, and sophmore Cheylee Mathis smacked in a kill and had one dig.
