ELIZABETHTOWN – Clinton dropped the first set then rallied to take the next three sets in a 3-1 non-conference volleyball victory over East Bladen Monday night by scores of 21-25, 25-13, 25-6 and 25-13.

Senior Kaley Smith and junior Sarah Johnson tallied 2 service points each to keep East Bladen even at 7-7 in the first set.  Smith later reeled off a run of 6 straight service points that edged the Lady Eagles in front 18-17.

Two service points by Jozee Strickland kept East on top at 21-18, before Sarah Johnson served out the set with a trio of service points.

Kaley Smith started the second game with a pair of service points for an early 2-0 lead. A pair of Ashley Hardin service points pulled East to within 12-7, before Clinton evened the match 1-1 with a 13-6 run.

After Clinton won the third set, Strickland rallied East with 3 service points that tied the fourth set 4-4. Hardin knocked in a trio of service points that put the Lady Eagles up 9-7, but Clinton fought back to take the match.

Kaley Smith led the East Bladen servers with 11 service points. Hardin finished with 6 service points, and Strickland and Sarah Johnson recorded 5 service points each. Senior Faith Johnson and sophomore Lorna Mendell added one service point each.

The Lady Eagles travel to rival West Bladen Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. game.
