Volleyball: East Bladen 3, East Columbus 1

ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen rallied to take the final 2 sets and defeat East Columbus 3-1 on Thursday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, and 25-17.

Junior Kayleigh Raynor served out the first set with 3 straight service points then reeled off 6 straight service points in the third set that put the Lady Eagles ahead to stay at 19-17. Raynor finished with 12 service points, 5 kills, an ace and a dig.

Freshman Acee Campbell drilled in 5 aces, 8 service points and 4 kills for the winners. Junior Cheylee Mathis pounded in 7 kills, 4 blocks, an ace and 2 service points. Junior Sara Gargala fired in 8 service points, 2 kills and 2 blocks.

Senior Cybil Campbell knocked in 6 service points, 4 kills and an ace for East Bladen. Junior Katie Evans belted in 8 service points and 2 aces. Senior Adrienne Howell racked up 7 service points and an ace.

Senior Lila McDuffie tallied 2 service points, a kill and an ace for the Eagles. Senior Abbie Cross finished with 2 service points, a kill and an ace. Senior Lorna Mendell swatted in a kill, a block and a service point. Senior Ruth Ward added 2 service points and an ace.

Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagles evened their conference record at 3-3 and are 3-5 overall. East Bladen will host Midway Monday night.
