LAKE WACCAMAW – Junior Katie Evans dished out 29 assists and fired in 16 service points to lead East Bladen to a 3-1 Three Rivers Conference volleyball victory over East Columbus on Tuesday night by set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 26-28 and 25-15.

Evans also contributed 2 aces and a dig. Junior Kayleigh Raynor slammed in 10 service points, 5 kills, an ace and had 3 digs. Junior Cheylee Mathis pounded in 10 kills, 2 service points, a block and had a dig and an assist.

Freshman Acee Campbell hammered in 7 kills, 6 service points, 2 aces, a block and had 3 digs for the winners. Senior Adrienne Howell drilled in 9 service points, 2 aces and had 4 digs. Senior Lorna Mendell knocked in 6 kills, 4 blocks and a service point.

Senior Ruth Ward racked up 5 service points, 3 aces and 3 digs for the Lady Eagles. Senior Cybil Campbell sparked the defense with 6 digs and added 3 kills, an assist, an ace and a service point. Senior Lila McDuffie smacked in 3 kills, 3 service points and had 4 digs.

Senior Abbie Cross finished with 2 kills, 2 digs and a service point for East Bladen. Sophmore Alexus Mitchell totaled 2 kills and 2 digs. Junior Sara Gargala collected a kill, a block and a dig. Senior Shanell McMillian had one kill.

Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagles improved to 7-8 in league play and 7-12 overall. East Bladen will host West Bladen on Tuesday in their season finale.
