ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen withstood a furious Fairmont rally and edged the Golden Tornadoes 15-13 in the final set to claim a Three Rivers Conference volleyball victory Tuesday by set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 22-25, 13-25 and 15-13.

Junior Kayleigh Raynor served out the match with the final 2 service points. Raynor racked up a whopping 22 service points, 3 aces, 7 kills and 4 digs to lead the winners attack.

Junior Katie Evans filled up the stat sheet for the Lady Eagles by dishing out 31 assists and firing in 15 service points, 5 aces, 4 kills, a block and had 5 digs.

Senior Lorna Mendell blasted in 10 kills and 4 blocks for East Bladen. Freshman Acee Campbell served out the second set with 3 straight service points and finished with 8 service points, 6 kills and an ace.

Junior Cheylee Mathis slammed in 4 kills, 3 blocks and 3 service points for East. Senior Ruth Ward drilled in 4 service points and an ace. Senior Cybil Campbell belted in 2 kills, a service point, a block and had a dig and an assist.

Senior Adrienne Howell smacked in 2 service points, an ace and had a dig for the winners. Senior Lila McDuffie pounded in 2 kills. Senior Abbie Cross knocked in 2 kills and a block. Junior Sara Gargala added a kill, and sophomore Alexus Mitchell had 2 digs.

Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagles evened their conference record at 6-6 and are 6-10 overall.
