ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen defeated Red Springs 3-1 on Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 16-25 and 25-9.
Junior Katie Evans racked up a whopping 32 assists and scored 8 service points to lead the winners’ attack. Junior Kayleigh Raynor filled up the stat sheet with 12 service points, 4 aces, 5 kills and 2 digs.
Freshman Acee Campbell pounded in 7 kills, 3 aces, 11 service points and had one assist for the Lady Eagles. Senior Adrienne Howell drilled in 11 service points and 5 aces. Senior Ruth Ward fired in 10 service points, 3 aces and had one dig.
Senior Lorna Mendell hammered in 5 kills, 2 blocks and had an assist for East Bladen. Senior Cybil Campbell belted in 2 kills, 2 service points, a block and had 3 digs. Junior Cheylee Mathis slammed in 3 kills, a block and had an assist and a dig.
Senior Lila McDuffie knocked in 2 kills, a service point and had one dig for East. Junior Sara Gargala contributed 2 blocks and a kill.
Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagles improved to 4-6 in league play and 4-10 overall and will travel to West Columbus on Thursday night.
