ELIZABETHTOWN – Seniors Acee Campbell and AnnaGrey Heustess combined for 28 service points to lead East Bladen to a 3-0 Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball victory over West Bladen by set scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 25-16.

Acee Campbell hammered in 15 service points, and Heustess slammed in 13 service points. Senior Karli Priest rang up 9 service points, and senior Maegan Burney knocked in 8 service points. Seniors Emma Turbeville and Trinity Cromartie added 2 service points each.

Acee Campbell captured 8 straight service points to propel the Lady Eagles to an 11-3 lead in the opening set. Priest grew the lead to 18-8 with a trio of service points. Sophomore Alina Chavez and senior Emily Young rallied West to within 19-12 with 2 service points each, before Burney banged in 3 service points to push the margin to 23-12, Acee Campbell then served out the set.

Heustess started the 2nd set with 4 straight service points for a 5-1 lead. Acee Campbell stretched the lead to 11-2 with 4 more service points. Two service points from Cromartie padded the lead to 15-5, and Priest delivered 4 service points in a row for a 20-6 lead. Burney served out the set with 3 consecutive service points.

Four consecutive service points from Heustess began the 3rd set. Burney and Priest tallied 2 service points each to push the lead to 7-1 then 13-8. Senior Makayla Wright closed the gap to 13-11 with a pair of service points, before Heustess reeled off a 6-point service run that opened up a 20-11 lead. Turbeville served out the set at 25-16.

Young dished out 4 assists and fired in 2 aces and another service point for the Lady Knights. Wright blasted in 2 kills and 2 service points, and Kierra Lewis smacked in 2 kills, a block and a service point. Junior Trinity Meares drilled in 1 ace, a kill and 2 blocks. Senior Whitney McLean powered in 2 kills, a block and had a dig.

Junior Jenna McLean swatted in 1 ace, 2 other service points and a kill. Chavez totaled 2 service points, and sophomore Marlene Crabtree contributed a service point and a dig. Senior Kaitlyn Brisson belted in a kill and a service point, and senior Kylie Durden added 2 digs.

Coach Jordan Raynor’s Lady Eagles improved to 6-3 in SAC-7 play and 9-6 overall. East Bladen will travel to Fairmont Tuesday night. West Bladen, now 1-7 and 3-12, will host Fairmont Thursday night.
