FAIRMONT – Fairmont swept East Bladen 3-0 Thursday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16.

Senior Cheylee Mathis pounded in 8 kills and a service point to lead the Lady Eagles. “Cheylee was very aggressive during her time on the court,” said East Bladen Coach Jordan Raynor. “The stats don’t reflect her efforts from the game.”

Senior teammate Katie Evans connected on all 13 of her service attempts and drilled in 2 aces. She also contributed 2 digs. Sophomore Cydney Campbell was credited with 2 digs. Sophomore Acee Campbell slammed in 2 kills.

Senior Kayleigh Raynor knocked in 2 kills and had one dig for East. Senior Sara Gargala hammered in a kill and a block. Sophomore AnnaGrey Heustess smacked in an ace and a kill. Junior Alexus Mitchell and sophomore Maegan Burney smashed in one kill each.

East Bladen, now 2-3 in TRC play and 4-4 overall, will host St. Pauls Thursday at 4:30.

The East Bladen jayvees dropped their first set 28-26 Thursday then fought back to take the next 2 sets 25-14 and 15-12. The Lady Eagle jayvees improved to 2-3 in league play and 3-5 overall.
