BLADENBORO – Fairmont defeated West Bladen 3-0 Thursday night in Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-14.
Junior Emily Young checked all the stat columns with 6 assists, 5 service points, 4 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs for the Lady Knights. Junior Makayla Wright racked up 4 service points, 3 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces and a dig. Sophomore Trinity Meares knocked in 4 kills, 2 blocks and 3 service points.
Junior Whitney McLean pounded in 8 kills and 5 service points for West. Sophomore Jenna McLean delivered 3 service points, 1 ace, 1 block and 1 assist. Sophomore Maddie Walters slammed in 2 kills and had 2 digs. Junior Catherine Dowless tallied 1 ace, 1 service point and 1 assist. Senior Caroline Brisson had 2 digs.
The Lady Knights, now 2-6 in league play and 3-10 overall, will travel to St. Pauls next Thursday. West Bladen’s home game with Red Springs that was scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 16th at 10 a.m.
