BURGAW – Pender defeated East Bladen 3-0 Thursday in Four County Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-11.
Senior Bethany Lesane led the Lady Eagles with 12 service points and a kill. Senior Lexie Mendell contributed 9 service points, 3 kills and a block.
Sophmore Ashley Hardin racked up 8 service points, a kill and a block for East. Junior Hannah Devane tallied 7 service points, 2 kills and an ace. Junior Shardajah Brown knocked in 6 service points, an ace and a kill.
Senior Alexa Hernandez and Jozee Strickland finished with 2 service points each for the Lady Eagles, and senior Anna Grace Long added a kill and a service point.
Tuesday night the Lady Eagles dropped a 3-0 decision to Clinton by set scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 25-8.
Devane slammed in 3 kills, an ace and 8 service points to lead the Lady Eagle scoring. Lesane fired in 6 service points, and Mendell collected 4 service points, 2 kills and a block.
Hardin posted 4 service points, 2 blocks and a kill. Long delivered 4 service points, and Brown pounded in 3 kills and a service point.
Strickland totaled 2 blocks, 2 service points and a kill, and Hernandez had one service point.
The Lady Eagles, now 3-6, will host Heide Trask Tuesday at 4:30.
