ST. PAULS – St. Pauls handed West Bladen its first loss of the season by a 3-1 score Thursday night by set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-18 in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action.

Senior Mikayla Meadows hammered in 13 kills, 7 service points, an ace, 2 solo blocks and had a dig and an assist for the Lady Knights. Junior Sidnee Walters poured in 8 kills, 8 service points, 2 aces, a solo block and dished out 7 assists.

Senior Jordan Benson keyed the West Bladen defense with 22 digs and had one kill. Junior Ashlyn Cox knocked in 8 service points and handed out 7 assists. Senior Lexi Corrothers slammed in 9 kills and 5 service points.

Junior Amelia Brisson fired in 8 service points, 3 aces, 2 kills and 2 solo blocks for the Lady Knights. Junior Shelby Pharr pounded in 3 kills and 2 service points. Senior Erica Storms drilled in 3 kills and had one dig. Junior Taylor West added 2 digs and a kill.

“We played well at times but did not capitalize on the little things when needed,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “St. Pauls came ready to play.”

The Lady Knights, now 3-1 in league play and 5-1 overall, will host Fairmont on Monday night.
