Bladen County VolleyballEast Bladen jumped out to a 2-set lead in Tuesday’s Four County Conference volleyball match at Wallace-Rose Hill, but the Lady Bulldogs rallied to take the final 3 sets and snap the Lady Eagles 6-game winning streak by set scores of 22-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-19 and 15-13.

Junior Lexie Mendell and senior Lacey Suggs posted double-doubles to lead the Lady Eagles. Mendell poured in 19 service points, 16 kills and 4 aces. Suggs hammered in 13 kills, 12 service points, 2 blocks and had 2 assists.

Senior Miller Heustess just missed another double-double for East with a whopping 21 assists, 9 service points, 6 aces and a block.  Senior Claire Campbell knocked in 4 service points and 2 kills and dished out 3 assists.

Senior Abby Ward fired in 4 service points for East Bladen, and sophomore Hannah DeVane tallied 3 service points and 2 kills.

The Lady Eagles are now 7-5 in league play and 10-8 overall and will celebrate their Senior Night Thursday against Union.
