DUBLIN – West Bladen defeated East Bladen 3-0 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 27-25.

Junior Raegan Davis reeled off 5 straight service points as West Bladen grabbed a 6-0 lead in the first set. Senior Mikayla Winebarger stretched the Lady Knight lead to 15-5 with 6 straight service points.

A trio of service points from senior Alise Pait padded the West lead to 19-6. Sophmore Lexie Corrothers knocked in a pair of service points as the lead grew to 22-7.

Senior Kaley Smith rallied East to within 22-10 with a pair of service points. Four consecutive service points from senior Faith Johnson trimmed the West lead to 24-15, before a side-out ended the set.

Both teams started slowly in Set 2 until Pait delivered 4 straight service points to put West in front 9-5. Service points from Raegan Davis and seniors Patience Parker and Elizabeth Allbright widened the lead to 16-10.

A service point from senior Hannah Devane and two more from Kaley Smith rallied the Lady Eagles to within 21-18, but Parker served out the set for West with 3 straight service points.

Sophmore Gracyn Martin tallied a pair of service points to give East a quick 2-0 lead in the third set. Junior Ashley Hardin smacked in 4 straight service points for a 10-8 Lady Eagle lead. A trio of service points from Faith Johnson padded the lead to 17-11.

A pair of service points from Dy’Asia McDowell kept East in front 22-18, but junior Callie Lewis’ two service points sliced the margin to 23-21. Raegan Davis edged the Lady Knights ahead 25-24 with a trio of service points, before senior Brinkley Collier served out the set at 27-25.

“It was a great match,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “I am so proud of my girls. They fought hard and did what was asked of them.”

Raegan Davis hammered in 15 kills, 6 aces and 3 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Winebarger slammed in 7 kills, an ace and 6 service points, and junior Caroline Davis racked up 22 digs and a kill. Pait drilled in 4 kills, an ace and 6 service points.

Allbright pounded in 4 kills, an ace and 2 service points. Parker knocked in 3 kills, an ace and 3 service points. Lewis, Corrothers, and Collier contributed 2 service points each, and Corrothers and Lewis added one kill each.

Faith Johnson led the East Bladen servers with 9 service points. Smith and Hardin finished with 5 service points each. Martin contributed 3 service points, and McDowell added 2 service points. Devane had one service point.

West Bladen will travel to Fairmont Thursday night, while East Bladen will host Whiteville.
