Volleyball: West Bladen 3, East Columbus 2

LAKE WACCAMAW- West Bladen saw East Columbus fight back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits before the Lady Knights closed out the Lady Gators 3-2 Thursday night in a marathon Three Rivers Conference volleyball game by set scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-11, 24-26 and 15-10.

Senior Amelia Brisson lit up the scoreboard with 24 service points that included 8 aces. She added 3 kills, an assist and 2 digs for the winners. Sophomore Emily Young poured in 15 service points that included an ace, 4 kills, an assist and 3 digs.

Senior Shelby Pharr slammed in 11 kills and 13 service points that included 2 aces for West. Senior Ashlyn Cox stuffed the stat sheet with 12 assists, 5 kills, 2 aces, 8 other service points and a dig. Sophomore Lydia Villagomez pounded in 8 kills, 3 blocks and had 2 digs.

Sophomore Whitney McLean hammered in 6 kills, 5 service points and a block for the Lady Knights. Senior Alyssa Suggs was credited with 5 digs, and junior Caroline Brisson racked up 4 digs. Sophomore Catherine Dowless had one dig.

Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 2-1 in TRC play and 4-2 overall and will travel to Whiteville Thursday.
