West Bladen survived a Pender rally and edged the Lady Patriots 3-2 Thursday night by set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 18-25 and 15-13 in Four County Conference volleyball action at Pender.
Junior Morgan Schumacher racked up 14 service points, 6 kills, 3 aces and 3 blocks to lead the Lady Knights. Junior Logan Autry was credited with 8 assists and delivered 12 service points, an ace and a kill.
Junior Laikyn Pait fired in 13 service points, 2 kills, a block and had one assist for West. Junior Kathryn Schultz pounded in 7 kills, 7 blocks, 9 service points and an ace.
Kassidy Anderson tallied 5 service points and 4 kills for the winners. Senior Lorna Smith knocked in 5 kills, 3 service points and had a dig and an assist. Junior Jenna Dove smacked in one kill.
It was the second consecutive win for Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights who improved to 7-10 on the season and will host Clinton Tuesday.
