West Bladen High School LogoST. PAULS – West Bladen’s Lady Knights dropped the first set then roared back to defeat St. Pauls 3-1 Tuesday night by set scores of 24-26, 25-17, 25-11 and 25-14 in non-conference volleyball action.

“The girls played hard and had some tough rallies,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “St. Pauls has a strong team. Communication at key points of the game was crucial.”

Sophomore Raegan Davis loaded the stat sheet with 6 kills, 6 assists, 4 aces, 3 service points, a block and a block assist for West. Senior Morgan Schumacher pounded in 7 kills, an ace and a service point.

Senior Kathryn Schultz knocked in 7 kills and assisted on a block. Senior Logan Autry dished out 8 assists to go with her 5 service points and 2 aces for the winners.

Senior Laikyn Pait fired in 6 aces, 3 service points and 2 kills. Senior Kassidy Anderson hammered in 4 aces, 4 kills and 4 service points for the Lady Knights.

Junior Patience Parker slammed in 3 aces, 2 kills and 3 service points. Senior Kaylee Stevens rang up 3 kills and an ace, and senior Jenna Dove drilled in a pair of aces for the winners.

The Lady Knights conclude their non-conference slate with a 4-2 record and will host Union Thursday at 4:30 in their Four County Conference opener.

St. Pauls outlasted West Bladen 2-1 in the jayvee match winning by set scores of 27-25, 23-25 and 15-11. The Lady Knight jayvees are now 2-4.

“The (JV) Girls fought hard, but had some lapses in communication that cost some points,” said Coach Davis.

Alise Pait led the Lady Knights with 8 service points, 7 aces and a kill. Teammate Mikayla Winebarger finished with 4 kills, 3 aces and a service point, and Callie Lewis slammed in 3 kills.

Elizabeth Allbright knocked in 3 kills, 2 aces and a service point for West. Brinkley Collier fired in 2 kills, 2 aces and a service point, and Jordan Benson contributed 2 kills, an ace and a service point for the Lady Knights.
