BLADENBORO – After a pair of narrow 5-set defeats in their opening 2 matches, West Bladen’s Lady Knights rolled to a 3-0 victory over West Columbus Tuesday night by set scores of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-6.
Senior Emily Young filled up the stat sheet with 5 aces, 3 kills and 5 assists for the winners. Junior Jena McLean dished out 7 assists and belted in 2 aces. Senior Makayla Wright pounded in 6 aces, a kill and had a dig.
Senior Whitney McLean spiked in 5 kills and had 1 assist for West Bladen. Junior Trinity Meares swatted in 5 kills and had 1 assist. Junior Maddie Walters distributed 4 assists and drilled in 3 aces and a kill.
Senior Kylie Durden blistered the court with 5 aces. Senior Kaitlyn Brisson slammed in 3 kills, and sophomore Alina Chavez knocked in 3 aces and 2 kills.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights, now 1-2, will host South Columbus Thursday night.
