CERRO GORDO – Senior Sidnee Walters and sophomore Whitney McLean combined for 22 service points Thursday night to lead West Bladen to a 3-0 Three Rivers Conference volleyball victory over West Columbus by set scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-8.

Walters drilled in 12 service points that included 4 aces, and McLean hammered in 10 service points that included 2 aces. Sophomore Lydia Villagomez knocked in 6 service points that included an ace.

Seniors Ashlyn Cox and Amelia Brisson fired in 6 service points each, both of them had one ace for the winners. Senior Shelby Pharr blasted in 3 aces and 2 other service points. Sophomore Makayla Wright tallied 3 service points that included an ace, and sophomore Emily Young added an ace and another service point.

A pair of McLean service points propelled the Lady Knights to an early 8-2 lead in the opening set. Pharr reeled off 5 service points to grow the lead to 14-4, and Walters smacked in 5 more service points as the lead grew to 20-10, before Brisson served out the set.

West Columbus grabbed an early lead in the 2nd set, but Wright rallied West Bladen to within 12-11 with a trio of service points. Villagomez vaulted the Lady Knights in front 18-13 with 6 straight service points. A trio of Pharr service points kept the visitors on top 24-20, and a side-out ended the set.

The Lady Knights rolled through the final set as Cox delivered 4 service points, and Brisson and McLean followed with 3 service points each. Walters served out the set with 7 consecutive service points.

West Bladen improved to 3-2 in the TRC and 5-3 overall.
