FAYETTEVILLE – West Bladen’s Lady Knights opened their 2018 volleyball season Wednesday night with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Westover by set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-20.

Senior Raegan Davis pounded in 11 kills, 6 service points, and 2 aces and collected 6 assists and a block to lead the Lady Knights. Sophmore Sidnee Walters fired in 11 service points, 2 kills and an ace.

Junior Mikayla Meadows knocked in 7 service points, 4 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks for the winners. Junior Jordan Benson contributed 9 assists, 3 service points and an ace. Junior Tatiana Hunt racked up 5 service points and 3 aces.

Sophmore Shelby Pharr slammed in 4 kills and a service point for West Bladen. Junior Lexi Corrothers hammered in 3 kills and a block. Senior Caroline Davis tallied 2 service points and an ace.

Senior Callie Lewis belted in 2 kills, and senior Alana King and sophmore Amelia Brisson added one kill each for the Lady Knights.

“I am so proud of the way the girls played tonight,” said West Bladen Coach Gaye Davis. “Each and every girl was an important piece of the win.”

The Lady Knights will travel to Fairmont Thursday for their Three Rivers Conference opener. Jayvee match starts at 4:30 followed by the varsity.
