DUBLIN- West Bladen won the final 2 sets by 2 points each to defeat Whiteville 3-1 in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday by set scores of 25-17, 25-27, 27-25 and 25-23.

Senior Morgan Schumacher hammered in 14 kills and 4 aces and had an assist and a block assist for the Lady Knights. Senior Logan Autry drilled in 8 aces and a kill and was credited with 13 assists and another service point.

Senior Kaylee Stevens slammed in 10 kills and 2 service points for the winners. Sophmore Raegan Davis dished out 11 assists and added 5 kills, 4 service points, 2 solo blocks and one block assist.

Senior Jenna Dove pounded in 4 aces, 2 kills and a service point. Senior Kathryn Schultz knocked in 4 kills and 3 blocks. Senior Laikyn Pait fired in 3 aces and another service point. Senior Kassidy Anderson racked up 4 kills, 3 aces, and another service point.

Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights improved to 2-0 and will host West Columbus Thursday at 4:30.

Whiteville rallied to take the last 2 sets and edge West Bladen 2-1 in the jayvee match by scores of 10-25, 25-22 and 25-19.

Junior Elizabeth Allbright hammered in 9 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks and had another service point for the West jayvees. Teammate Alise Pait racked up 5 service points and 3 aces.

Callie Lewis slammed in 6 kills and had 2 service points and an assist for West. Freshman Lexie Corrothers filled the stat sheet with 4 aces, 2 service points, 2 kills and an assist.

Freshman Jordan Benson delivered 2 aces, 2 service points and 3 assists. Mikayla Winebarger added 2 kills and 2 assists, and Alana King had one assist.

The Lady Knights jayvees are now 1-1.
