The Bladen County Division on Aging is looking for volunteers willing to help senior adults with their tax preparation questions.
According to Joan Allen, in the past volunteers have given of their time to answer questions and assist senior adults with their income taxes.
“In the past we have had volunteers from the community college, local businesses, local tax preparers, to volunteer their time to help senior adults with tax preparation,” said Allen.
She added volunteers would be contacted on an as needed basis.
“Usually, we have a handful of folks who will call asking for that type of help,” said Allen.
She said last year she had to connect people with resources outside of Bladen County. Allen added that she would like to be able to refer folks to someone in Bladen County.
Allen said there are also opportunities for volunteers who would like to teach a class to senior adults or someone who would like to volunteer to help with home-delivered meals.
