Star Telephone issued a notice Thursday quoting “a group of individuals are trying to represent themselves as Star Communications Tech Support. If you should see a pop up come on your computer stating that it is Star Communications and asking you to call a number that is not local, please be aware that this is a HOAX and they could potentially take control of your computer.” The Star release continues, “Please do not call the number and immediately seek a PC technician to assist you in removing possible viruses or malware.”
