Arctic high pressure will continue to build down into the Carolinas this weekend with near record cold and dangerously low wind chills. Temperatures will be in the teens to single digits early Saturday and Sunday morning as wind chills fall near zero Sunday morning.

The impacts of the weather are prolonged exposure with temperatures below 5 degrees could lead to frost bite or hypothermia. Exposed pipes are susceptible to freezing. Roadways could remain slick all weekend as temperatures may not reach above freezing for more than a couple of hours each day.
