Overview: Scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon will become more numerous on Saturday as a cold front moves into the area. This front will stall near
Savannah, GA Sunday with drier air moving into the Carolinas from the north. A tropical disturbance about 350 miles off the Carolina coast is becoming better organized, and the
system could be declared a tropical depression later today. There are increasing chances this system will meander just off our coastline through the first half of next week.

Impacts: Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms this weekend could produce locally heavy rainfall. At this time no direct impacts from the tropical disturbance are anticipated
through Sunday.

Timing/Confidence: Confidence is moderate to high that scattered slow-moving showers and thunderstorms will affect the area through Saturday. Drier air building in from the
north should reduce the coverage of storms on Sunday, particularly across North Carolina.
