Spread the love

Wesleys Chapel with RobertFrom 1975 to 2003, the youth of Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Elizabethtown hosted a Charity Ball each year around Valentine’s Day. The Charity Ball was a dinner theater with musical entertainment and skits performed by the youth of the church, and drew large crowds from the entire community.

This year, several generations of former performers and youth leaders are working together to host a reunion over the weekend of February 20-22, partly as a homecoming celebration, and also to show the current youth of our community how to put on a great show!

The events will kick off with an informal get-together and pizza dinner for all former Wesley’s Chapel youth  and leaders at 6:30 PM on Friday, February 20. Then on Saturday, February 21, the entire community is invited to the main event of the weekend, a Dinner Theater starting at 6:30 PM, benefiting the church’s youth program. On Sunday, February 22, the 11:00 worship service will be led by Rev. Eckie Lancaster, the long-time former pastor of Wesley’s Chapel, with a covered dish lunch afterwards. All events will be held at Wesley’s Chapel Church, on Peanut Wesleys ChapelPlant Road near Elizabethtown.

Tickets for the Dinner Theater on Saturday, February 21 are $10, and are available from The Corner Café, Chris Adams (phone 919-818-3894), Denise Bridgers (phone 910-862-5979), or the church office (phone 910-645-4011). For more information, please email CharityBallReunion@gmail.com or see the “Wesley’s Chapel Charity Ball Reunion” event page on Facebook.
