FAIRMONT – West Bladen capitalized on 7 hits and 16 walks to post an 18-2 Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball victory over Fairmont Thursday.

Freshman Megan Pait batted 2-for-3, walked twice, scored 2 runs and drove in three to lead the Lady Knight hitters. Hannah Richardson walloped a 3-run triple, walked twice and scored 3 runs. Kaitlyn Brisson singled, walked twice and scored 2 runs.

Briley Stanley belted a 2-run single and scored 2 runs for West. Kylie Duffle knocked in a run with a single. Violet Allen beat out an infield hit, walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Josie Troublefield drove in a run. Olivia Allen walked 3 times and scored 2 runs.

Freshman Brookee Singletary walked twice and scored 3 runs for the Lady Knights, and Gracie Faircloth walked twice and scored a run.

Faircloth pitched 3 innings to pick up the win allowing 2 runs – no earned runs – on 2 hits, 2 walks, and a hit batsman while striking out one.

Brisson’s single and run-scoring singles by Duffle and Pait highlighted West Bladen’s 5-run 1st inning. Richardson’s bases-loaded triple and Stanley’s 2-run single keyed a 7-run Lady Knight 3rd inning that opened up a 13-2 lead.

Violet Allen’s single and Pait’s 2-run hit sparked a 5-run 4th inning by the winners.

The Lady Knight jayvees improved to 3-2 and will host Red Springs Wednesday.
