Fresh off winning the championship of their own Woodmen Life Christmas Tournament last week, West Bladen’s Knights will travel to Lake Waccamaw Monday to battle South Columbus in the opening round of the East Columbus Christmas Tournament.

Coach Travis Pait’s Knights bring an 8-1 record into Monday’s 4:30 game. South Columbus is 2-5 with wins over West Columbus and Green Sea/Floyds, SC.

In Monday’s other boys game, host East Columbus (1-8) will play South Robeson (1-7) at 7:30.

West Bladen’s Lady Knights will also be playing in the tournament. Coach Rick Rhoda’s Lady Knights (2-6) open the tournament at 3 p.m. Monday against South Robeson. The Lady Mustangs are 7-2 on the season and are led by senior A’terria Quick who averages 26.6 ppg.

In the other girls semi-final, host East Columbus (5-2) will play South Columbus (1-6) Monday at 6 p.m.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday with the girls consolation game at 3 p.m., the boys consolation game at 4:30, girls championship at 6 p.m. and boys championship at 7:30.
