RED SPRINGS –West Bladen’s Boys finished third in the five-team Three Rivers Conference track meet held at Red Springs High Thursday.

St. Pauls won the boys meet with 111 points. Host Red Springs was second with 99 points, followed by West Bladen with 65 points. Whiteville tallied 52 points, and South Columbus was fifth with 24 points.

Whiteville won the girls meet with 107 points. St. Pauls was second with 87 points followed by South Columbus with 52 points, Red Springs (50 points) and West Bladen (49 points).

West Bladen’s 4×800 meter relay team won their event with a time of 9:34. The Knights 4×400 meter relay team posted a second-place finish (3:52).

Knight sophmore Tyre Boykin placed second in both the 200 meter dash (24.0) and the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 4 inches.

Other West Bladen second-place finishes included senior Jonathan Robinson with a toss of 41 feet, 6 inches and sophmore Andrew (A.J.) Brown in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 1 inch.

Senior Patience Parker won the 100 meter dash for West Bladen with a time of 13.4 seconds. Parker also placed second in the 200 meter dash in 28.4 seconds.

Other second-place finishes for the Lady Knights included sophmore Jamil Bostic in the triple jump (28 feet, 6 inches), junior Callie Lewis in the discus (73 feet, 6 inches) and both the 4×200 meter relay team (2:08) and the 4×100 meter relay team (55.1).

Third-place finishers for the Knight boys were the 4×200 meter relay team (1:35), senior Dayvon Swindell in the 110 meter hurdles (18.8), and Davion Willis-Howard in the 300 meter hurdles ((46.4).

Sophmore Tarea Lucy posted third-place finishes for the Lady Knights in the 100 meter dash (14.2) and 200 meter dash (28.8).

Scoring fourth-place points for the West Bladen boys were: Willis-Howard in the 110 meter hurdles (19.0), sophmore Jacob Bryan in the 1600 meter run (5:14), and Boykin in the 400 meter dash (56.2).

Other fourth-place finishers included senior Trenton Lyons in the 800 meter run (2:23), senior Masai Carroway (24.4). Brown in the triple jump (35 feet, 7 inches) and senior Zion Barrett in the shot put (39 feet, 2 inches).

Bostic placed fourth for the Lady Knights in the 100 meter dash (14.4) and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 13 feet, 7 inches.

Swindell earned fifth-place points in the boys long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1 inch.
