GOLDSBORO – West Bladen’s doubles team of Conner Brisson and Savannah Lee finished fourth in the MidEast Women’s Tennis Saturday and qualified for the Class 2A State Tournament in Cary on October 27.
Brisson and Lee who are both juniors won the Three Rivers Conference doubles championship and came into the MidEast Regional as the No. 1 seed.
The West Bladen duo rolled past teams from South Granville and Eastern Randolph on Friday, but dropped Saturday morning’s semi-final match to N. C. School of Science & Math 6-0, 6-1.
In Saturday’s consolation match, Bartlett Yancey defeated Brisson & Lee 6-1, 6-1.
